Course Description

"Permaculture (permanent culture) is the conscious design and maintenence of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people providing their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way."

- Bill Mollison, A Designer's Manual

Permaculture offers us simple solutions in an increasingly complex world. It provides us with an understanding of how we can, in all of our choices, choose actions that work with rather than against our planet's natural systems.

In this course, we will learn about the basic principles of permaculture, the history of permaculture, as well as look at some existing permaculture systems around the world.

This 2-day course will be held at the Dietlimoos Community Gardens in Adliswil, a newly developed permaculture urban gardening project. You will have the chance to see various permaculture elements in practice, as well as gain some hands-on experience.
