Course Leader: Angela Malmgren
Course Assistant: Judy Elben
Nestled in a beautiful forest setting, and close to Zürich city, the Wehrenbachtobel offers the children in this group many opportunities to get closer to nature. We have a beautiful stream with waterfalls, there are winding forest paths with wildflowers, wildlife and many natural building materials to experiment with.
The Segetenhaus provides us a warm and secure place to learn about permaculture practices, to observe the chickens and pigs, and it offers an earth oven to bake homemade pizzas!
This group is focused on building a foundation of understanding for the natural world. We take both an experiential and scientific approach to learning about topics such as soil life, the various biomes and ecosystems on our planet, native wildlife and plant identification.
We learn about making fire, cooking food, and responsible consumption of natural resources. Each session follows a different curriculum that is determined by the season.
The course leader, Angela Malmgren, is an educator with over 20 years of experience working with children. She holds internationally recognized diplomas in Montessori education for children ages 6-18, in permaculture design, and for children in permaculture.
